The MagSpeed wheel is still the productivity cheat code—instant spin for long docs, precise clicks when you need control. The new 4S refines the shape slightly and improves the thumb button placement so accidental presses are gone.
Logi Options+ lets you map app-specific shortcuts; we set horizontal wheel for timeline scrub in Premiere and tab-switch in Chrome. Flow between three devices over Logi Bolt/Bluetooth stayed stable in our tests.
Battery life is excellent: ~6-7 weeks of daily use before charging. Charges via USB-C; you can use it while plugged in. Lefties still need an ambidextrous option—this is right-hand only.
Pros
- MagSpeed wheel remains unmatched
- Great ergonomics, improved thumb buttons
- Long battery life, USB-C charging
- Multi-device Flow is reliable
Cons
- Right-hand only
- Expensive for a mouse
- No full USB dongle included (Bolt sold separately)
Should you buy it?
If you live in docs, timelines, or spreadsheets, yes—the wheel and shortcuts save time. If you’re left-handed or want a lighter gaming mouse, look elsewhere. For productivity, the MX Master 4S stays the default recommendation.
